As Christians all over the world celebrate Easter, Senator Solomon Adeola, the Chairman of Senate Committee on Finance and Ogun West Senator-Elect, has called on all Nigerians to pray for peace and seamless transition of power next month amidst agitations in some quarters to violate the constitutional order of the nation.
In his Easter Message to the people, signed by his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, on Friday, the Senator appealed to all to practice the Christian virtues of sacrifice, patience, love and abiding faith for a better tomorrow as exemplified in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He stressed that “it is not possible to develop any society where the Christian virtues of love, sacrifices for one another, patience and hope for a better future are lacking”.
“Our nation is passing through a transition period from one administration to another in about a month’s’ time. We are still faced with many challenges like insecurity from depleted Boko Haram Insurgents, bandits’ attacks, kidnapping, herders/farmers clashes that calls for concerted efforts for us to have a renewed hope with the coming of a new administration. In addition to joining efforts at resolving these challenges in whatever capacity for envisaged economic turn-around, I call on all to pray for peace and seamless transition during the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ” he added.
Senator Adeola called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and support the
government efforts in the challenge of building a better society devoid of rampant insecurity, adding that as the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ opened a window for salvation of sinners to make heaven, there is hope for a better Nigeria with hard work, prayers and seamless transition of power.
