Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has extended Easter greetings to the Christian community in the state, describing the season as one for sober reflection and renewed commitment to peace, unity and national development.

In a message yesterday, he urged Christian faithful to use the Easter celebration as an opportunity to pray for the continued progress of Kebbi State and Nigeria as a whole.

He reminded citizens that Easter, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, is a season of sacrifice, renewal, hope and joy.

“This period reminds us that darkness is temporary and light will ultimately prevail, renewing our collective spirit of resilience,” the governor said.

He encouraged Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ, particularly tolerance, patience, love and understanding, as essential values in building a just and harmonious society.

He also called for greater efforts in preaching and practicing peace and unity, particularly in the face of the socio-economic and security challenges affecting the state and the country.

“Easter should not only be seen as a religious celebration but as a call to action, a time to extend love to one another and recommit ourselves to the values that strengthen our communities and our nation,” the governor noted.

He concluded by wishing all Christians in Kebbi State a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration.
