Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has congratulated Christians across the state and the country on the celebration of Easter, urging them to embrace the season’s message of hope, sacrifice, and spiritual renewal.
In his Easter message delivered from Abeokuta yesterday, the governor described Easter as a powerful symbol of renewed hope and transformation, which resonates not only with Christian teachings but also with the national aspiration for unity and progress under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Easter, observed by millions across the globe, transcends religious boundaries, offering insights into love, forgiveness, and the promise of new beginnings,” Abiodun said. “It is a time that encourages us to reflect deeply on our values and strengthen our resolve to build a better Governor Abiodun acknowledged the sacrifices made by Christian faithful during the 40-day Lenten season, marked by prayer, fasting, and acts of charity, even in the face of the country’s current economic difficulties.
“These acts of devotion and self-restraint are not in vain,” he added. “They will not only strengthen our spiritual foundation but also help transform our nation toward greatness.”
The governor further urged Nigerians to keep praying for the country and not to be discouraged by the nation’s challenges or distracted by those he described as “evil people with diversionary tactics.
He emphasised that just as Jesus triumphed over adversity, Nigeria could also overcome its current difficulties through resilience, faith and collective effort.
“As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us remember that this is not just a season of festivity, but one of reflection and recommitment to building a stronger and more united Nigeria,” he said.
Prince Abiodun assured Ogun residents of his administration’s continued commitment to developmental strides aimed at improving lives and raising living standards across the state.
“Our developmental trajectory has placed Ogun on a strong foundation for sustained growth, and we remain dedicated to delivering good governance to all,” the governor stated.
He wished all citizens a joyous, peaceful, and fulfilling Easter celebration.
