The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested and detained Nigerian journalist, Adejuwon Soyinka.
Soyinka, who is the West African Regional Editor of the Conversation Africa, was detained on Sunday.
It was gathered that the secret police picked up the journalist at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos around 5.40 a.m.
He was said to have arrived from the United Kingdom aboard a Virgin Atlantic flight.
DSS spokesman, Dr. Peter Afunanya confirmed the journalist’s arrest to Premium Times.
He said Soyinka was picked up by the DSS at the request of another agency but did not specify which agency.
Soyinka’s arrest follows controversy surrounding the alleged arrest and detention of the undercover whistleblower behind the PIDOM Nigeria page on X.
