Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and newly appointed Chairman of the Board of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC), Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has extended heartfelt Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslims across the country, urging them to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and national unity.

In his message to the Muslim Ummah, Dogara emphasized the spiritual importance of Eid-el-Kabir, which commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) willingness to sacrifice his son in submission to the will of Almighty Allah. He described the festival as a call to selflessness, compassion, and unwavering faith.

“As we celebrate this sacred season, let us remember that the essence of Eid lies in our willingness to make sacrifices for the good of others and our society. We must demonstrate empathy, uphold justice, and extend love to those in need,” Dogara stated.

New National Role: Building Economic Resilience

The message comes as Dogara takes on a new leadership role as Chairman of the Board of NCGC, a federal initiative designed to enhance access to finance for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Nigeria.

According to Dogara, the NCGC is poised to strengthen the country’s financial ecosystem by reducing the risk burden on lenders and empowering small businesses with easier access to credit.

“Our mission at NCGC is to remove barriers that hinder MSMEs from thriving. By guaranteeing loans, we’re giving millions of hardworking Nigerians a chance to participate meaningfully in the economy,” he said.
