Former Chief of General Staff, Lt. Gen. Oladipo Diya, will commission a fully-furnished and equipped science laboratory of the junior section of Odogbolu Grammar School, Odogbolu, Ogun State, donated by the Rotary Club of Lagos Island, District 9110 Nigeria Rotary International, during the tenure of its 2017/2018 President, Sanjeev Tandon, on Friday, November 30, as part of activities to celebrate Odogbolu Day.
The event, which also attracts Jumat, on Friday, November 30, at the Odogbolu Central Mosque, will be rounded up with a thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral (Anglican Communion) Odogbolu, Sunday, December 2, with a reception for indigenes of the community.
Expected at the event are the Alaye of Odogbolu, HRM Oba Adedeji Onagoruwa, a retired senior official of the Nigerian Customs Service, as well as Diyam who is the Asiwaju of Odogboluland.
The grand celebration will not be limited to merriment as a fora whereby fresh ideas and concepts are x-rayed for the continuity of success in the community and the nation at large.
Among eminent personalities expected at the occasion are the District 9110 Nigeria Governor, Rotary International Kola Shodipo, old students of the school, among who are Otunba Biodun Sobanjo and Bayo Odulana.
Odogbolu Day celebrations will also include the fourth edition of Diya’s Ogun State Public Schools English-speaking competition for secondary schools in the state, organised by the Odogbolu Community Development Council.
