The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Yakubu Pam said effort has been concluded to commence direct flight from Nigeria to TEL- AVIV, Israel for pilgrimage.
Deputy Director and Head Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka in a press statement said Rev. Pam disclosed during the 17th Biennial Conference of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, held at the Ecumenical Centre, Yenogoa, Bayelsa State.
He stated that since his assumption of duty in 2020, he was able to conceptualized the idea of having a direct flight from Nigeria to the State of Israel and that dream would come to fruition soon by March this year.
He noted that having a direct flight to Israel would help boost our bilateral relations between Nigeria and the State of Israel.
Rev. Pam explained that the licence for the direct flight had been awarded to an indigenous Nigerian airline which would be airlifting Nigerians and other nationals direct to Israel.
He further explained that the NCPC establishment Act of 2007 gave the Commission the sole mandate to coordinate and supervise the movement of Christians from Nigeria to the Biblical Holy Sites around the world.
He noted that within one year in the saddle, he was able to explore Holy Sites in the Kingdom of Jordan and afterwards had the maiden Pilgrimage exercise in Jordan in 2021 which was celebrated with pomp and pegantry by the Jordanians.
The NCPC helmsman affirmed that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, is the No 6 fastest growing organization in the world, say ,” our growth has been from a humble beginning to Cathedral “, he said.
Rev. Pam noted that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria was the only church in Nigeria that has beaten others in Pilgrimage sponsorship.
He urged members to key into the Commission’s Pilgrimage programme and leverage on the Pilgrimage offerings and be part of the Commission’s Pilgrimage exercise to the Holy land.
