…Inaugurates new members

 

 

 

Owerri, the Imo State capital, was practically shutdown on Sunday, January 5, 2025, as Diamond Brothers’ International, a prominent South African based  social club established in 2009 with  diverse membership across   South-Eastern part of Nigeria,   recently held its annual end-of-year party at the Golden Vista Hotel, a premium hospitality business hub in the heart of the  city.

 

 

 

The well attended  annual watershed event  took place in Owerri as  members of Diamond Brothers’ International in South Africa and around the world  flew into Imo  to be part of the ceremony which usually provides  an avenue for powerful business networking, political dialogue , conflicts resolution, reawakening of community development consciousness, strengthening of bond and mutual respect while charting a new cause for the brotherhood.

It was an evening of camaraderie, social conviviality and exchange of business contacts, as members of  Diamond Brothers’ International Social Club alongside their families came out in their numbers to have fun  and  enjoy the alluring environment of the venue.

Speaking during his  opening remarks, Chairman of the occasion,  Ugwumba Uche  Nwosu, a former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government House- Owerri,   commended the new leadership and members of Diamond Brothers’ International Social Club for their unwavering commitment in using the organization as a common platform to champion unity, love, mutual respect, and development – driven projects in their various communities back home.

 

 

 

Nwosu, however ,  applauded members of the  club for always thinking home and using their God-given resources to develop humanity and build society;  urging them to sustain the pace of progress having distinguished themselves  in the league of other social clubs in Nigeria; a statement which  underscores  the club’s expansive reach and commitment to fostering unity and solidarity among its membership.

In his speech, the soft- speaking but proactive Supreme  Lord Mayor  of Diamond Brothers’ International South Africa, Chief Uchenna Anozie, saluted the tenacity and resilience of the members of the   local organizing committee for putting up together such successful event during a  challenging and busy festive season. He also urged the entire membership of the elitist social club to keep pushing the frontiers for the expansion of Diamond Brothers’ International Club to other countries while strengthening the bond that exists among them for  common good. The Lord Mayor Chief Anozie highlighted the milestones recorded   by the Club in 2024  and outlined strategic plans for the future. He also emphasized the organization’s commitment to fostering unity, promoting cultural heritage, and contributing positively to societal well-being through humanitarian outreach.

Renowned for  his unwavering commitment to celebrating excellence,  trusting the process , believing in hard work, integrity, and societal impact, the result -orineted  Vice – Mayor of Diamond Brothers’ International Club, Hon. Chief Theo Mmeremikwu, who piloted the initiative, coordination and implementation of the successful end of year party and award ceremony in Owerri, Imo State, commended the  relentless efforts of members of his committee and their unity of purpose in ensuring that the event was seamless and hitch- free.

It is worthy of note, that over the years, Chief Theo Mmeremikwu  has demonstrated rare  leadership dexterity and sagacity  that distinguished him not just as a  pioneer  member of Diamond Brothers’ International  but also as a  visionary leader who had forseen the direction of the  club which now  serves as a unifying platform for Nigerians living in South Africa; assisting those who are stranded while intervening in the  case of many who have issues with  South African establishments .

On  a related note of appreciation, Dr. Francis Ike Igbo, Ph.D, National and International Grand Patron of  Diamond Brothers’ International  South Africa, lauded the unwavering commitment,  dedication, and show of support of the members in  massively attending the end of year party and award ceremony all the way from South Africa and other parts of the world, urging the new executives to carry everyone along by ensuring inclusive leadership.

Hon. Chief Chijioke Nwanneri, Duke of Diamond Brothers, and leader of the  Nigerian Branch  of Diamond Brothers’ International Social  Club, reiterated the commitment of the association to keep uniting its members and supporting initiatives  that foster peace, drive  progress,  and ensure development of the various states in the South East where their members came from.

The newly elected executives of Diamond Brothers’ International Club, South Africa Branch, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Uchenna Anozie was inaugurated  by the, Hon. Nze Stanley Ibeh, while the executives of the national body was inaugurated by Chancellor Chidi Anyanwu.The event also marked the formal induction of the club’s newly elected executives as the new  leadership  pledged to build upon the foundation laid by their predecessors, focusing on initiatives aimed at expanding the club’s international presence and enhancing membership engagements.

The speech by  a prominent member of the South African Branch of Diamond Brothers’ International, High Chief Dennis Opara (Nwachinemere) , underscored the level of commitment and solidarity exhibited by the members in galvanizing supports to  every member of the club  both in good and bad times.

Dikejiejemba Chuks Chilaka, a former Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Political Matters , and Chief Technical Adviser to the Executive Lord Mayor of Diamond Brothers’ International Social Club, Chief Uchenna Anozie; expressed  unflinching support to the newly elected executives while passionately appealing to the members to be on the same page for a seamless sailing of the association’s ship  under Chief Uchenna Anozie,  whom he believed has the capacity to lead them right.

Chancellor Chidi Anyanwu, the first Mayor of Diamond Brothers International and first Chancellor in his charismatic leadership disposition, ensured that things were properly organized. He also  commended the new leadership under Lord Mayor Uchenna Anozie while urging the members to sheathe their differences and work with the newly constituted executives.
