The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has commended the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, and the dedicated task force for their decisive and courageous actions in combating oil theft, illegal oil bunkering, and the vandalism of pipelines in the Niger Delta.

The national president of MOSIEND, Dr Kennedy Tonjo West, in a statement, said the firm response from the military has sent a clear message to criminal elements seeking to exploit and endanger the region’s resources and future.

West, who pointed out that MOSIEND is proud to identify with the CDS, said the efforts of the military underscored the government’s commitment to ending these illegal activities.

He declared that with the onslaught from the military, criminals intent on damaging infrastructure and stealing crude oil will soon be rounded up.

The statement read in part: “MOSIEND fully supports this unwavering stance and stands ready to collaborate in furthering these critical goals. The impact of oil theft and pipeline vandalism on our communities, environment, and national economy is profound.”
