Some of Africa’s most celebrated figures, including business mogul Aliko Dangote, global music sensation Burna Boy, World Trade Organisation (WTO) Director-General Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and Egyptian football star Mohammed Salah, are among the top personalities set to be honoured at the 2025 edition of the 100 Most Notable Africans Leadership and Business Summit, holding in Kigali, Rwanda.
The summit, scheduled for July 4 to 6,, will bring together a constellation of African icons from various sectors, including governance, entertainment, sports, business, health, and education.
It aims to celebrate their achievements while promoting discussions on economic growth, strategic governance, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development across the continent. The three-day event will honour individuals whose influence and impact continue to shape Africa’s narrative on the global stage.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, May 28, the Project Director for Africa, 100 Most Notable Peace Icons in Africa, Ambassador Kingsley Amafibe, said the summit will serve as a platform to showcase excellence and leadership that inspire the next generation of African change-makers.
“Today we celebrate trailblazers shaping Africa’s future, capturing the attention of leaders across Africa and business executives,” he said.
Amafibe stressed the importance of fostering regional cooperation, adding that the summit encourages cross-border partnerships in key sectors like agriculture, education, and health.
Also to be recognised alongside Dangote, Burna Boy, Okonjo-Iweala, and Salah are billionaire investor Femi Otedola, COZA Global pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, music stars Tems and Diamond Platnumz, industrialist Tony Elumelu, and Karame Rwanda CEO Munyakazi Sadate.
Additionally, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Zainab Nasir-Idris, wife of the Kebbi State Governor; Huriyya Dauda-Lawal, wife of the Zamfara State Governor; Arise Media Group Chairman Nduka Obaigbena; former Access Bank MD Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede; and Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi will be honoured.
Other honourees include Zimbabwe’s Finance Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube; Global Health Morocco CEO Dr. Imane Kendili; Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen; and Dr. Nimi Briggs, CEO of NIMPAT Group.
According to Amafibe, the summit is not only about awards but also about shaping policies and partnerships that promote good governance, economic reform, and human capital development.
“There is a pressing need for visionary leadership, strategic governance, transparency, and partnerships to drive positive change and unlock the continent’s full potential,” he added.
