DAAR Communications PLC (owners of AIT, Raypower and Faaji FM) has retired 10 of its senior staff in line with the company’s policy.
In a notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (yesterday the company informed its shareholders and the public that those retired were not sacked, contrary to some online publications.
In a statement by Miji Jonah, DAAR Communications’ Company Secretary, said the decision to retire members of executive management who have spent over 10-years in executive capacity was in compliance with the Code of Corporate Governance as well as the Company’s Internal Control Policies and Procedures Manual. Those affected are; Mr. Tony Akiotu, Dr Oluwatosin Dokpesi, Dr Ambrose Somide, Engr Anthony Uyah, Ms. Paulyn Ugbodagha, Mrs. Mary Lawrence-Dokpesi and Ms. Faith Ikems. Others are; Mr. Imoni Mac Amarere, Mr. John Iwarue and Mr. Johnson Onime. “The retirements are effective from 31st October 2024, following the completion of their regulatory prescribed tenure of two terms of five years.
“The Board is indeed grateful to all affected members for their invaluable contributions to the Company during their tenure in the management and wishes them the very best in their future endeavours. “The Company is working on a major restructuring of its leadership and once this is concluded, The Exchange, other regulatory authorities, its Shareholders and the General Public would be notified of such changes accordingly”, the statement added.
