As the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) bids farewell to several key management members who have reached statutory retirement, a new chapter begins with fresh leadership. Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, has unveiled a series of strategic appointments and redeployments aimed at reinforcing the Service’s commitment to excellence and operational efficiency.
In a significant shake-up, the CGC has appointed several officers to acting roles to ensure seamless leadership transitions and sustained high performance. The new appointments include: BM Jibo, now serving as Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) for Finance Administration and Technical Services (FATS), OA Alajogun, appointed Acting DCG for Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I), IG Umar, who steps in as Acting Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) at Headquarters, OA Salefu, named Acting ACG for Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), BA Makinde, who will take on the role of Acting ACG for Human Resource Development (HRD), T Bomodi, newly appointed as Acting ACG for Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I).
These changes not only reflect the officers’ proven track records but also underscore the NCS’s dedication to fostering a strategic and efficient leadership team. The Comptroller General extended his gratitude to the retiring members for their years of distinguished service and congratulated the new appointees.
He emphasised the need for their unwavering commitment as the Service continues its crucial work in revenue generation, smuggling suppression, and trade facilitation.
Under this new leadership, the Nigeria Customs Service is poised to reach new heights in its mission to safeguard and enhance national trade.
