The cult war ravaging Diobu axis of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area (PHALGA), Rivers State, took another dimension on Wednesday night, as suspected faction of Deygbam cult group shot dead Mr. Sango, a member of local vigilance outfit  at Echue Street, Mile 2 area in the state capital.

Daily Sun gathered that the member of the local vigilance group was ambushed along Echue Street, at about 10:00 pm where he was intercepted and shot dead by  rival Deygbam cult group.

Sources disclosed that the deceased was suspected to be a member of one of the houses of Deygbam cult group engaged in supremacy battle in Port Harcourt in the last  three weeks, despite being a member of vigilance group.

Also, it was gathered that a young lady ,who came to visit her brother at Mile 1 axis of Diobu, Port Harcourt, was reportedly killed by stray bullet on Wednesday night as the rampaging cultists engaged themselves in shoot out.

The state Police Command is yet to react to the reported cases of cult-related activities.

However, several members of the vigilance outfit,who pleaded anonymity confirmed the killing of their member by suspected cultists.

Last Sunday night, a taxi driver identified as Barnabas was shot dead by suspected cultists at his house by  Echue Street, Mile 2 Diobu.

Penultimate Friday, factional  members of the same cult group took control of the ever- busy Education Bus Stop along Ikwerre Road, in the state capital, where they engaged themselves in shoot out for over 15 minutes.

Earlier, a member of one of the Deygbam cult factions identified as Ishie was killed at railway axis,Mile 1 Diobu of Port Harcourt.
