Senator Eteng Williams, the lawmaker representing the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State, has highlighted Governor Bassey Otu’s leadership style and infrastructural projects as reasons for endorsing him for a second term in 2027.

He disclosed this during an endorsement rally by the Yakurr Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the Obol Lopon Palace Roundabout in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area.

Addressing the crowd, Senator Williams also emphasised the critical importance of unity and unwavering support for the current administration. The lawmaker highlighted ongoing infrastructural development in Yakurr, particularly the construction of the Mkpani–Agoi Road, and the governor’s inclusive governance style, which he noted has led to the appointment of several Yakurr indigenes to key positions within the state government.

“This endorsement is our way of reciprocating Governor Otu’s goodwill. I was scheduled to be in Uyo with my National Assembly colleagues to receive Governor Umo Eno into the APC, but I chose to be here to mobilise my constituents and demonstrate my total loyalty and support for the Governor and our party,” he said.
