Commuters at the ever busy Lagos Badagry Express way have commended the Divisional Police Officer, Morogbo Police Station, CSP. OLAITAN MOSES for coordinating palliative works on the bad portion of the road.
The Ajibade/Car Wash section of the road has failed on both lanes, making it difficult for motorists to navigate through the busy roads.
According to Alh. Kazeem OLATOYINBO, who spoke with Daily Sun: “The situation was so bad that for hours, motorists were held down on a journey that should be less than 5 minutes driving time, taking 2 hours, while most Commuters completed the journey on foot”.
The spate of containers falling on the bad section of the road was equally a major cause for concern.
On noticing this precarious situation, the DPO moved from his office, which is about a Kilometre to the spot and arranged for landfill of the bad sections of the road.
Not only that, the DPO also coordinated the decongestion of the traffic buildup on the highway.
As at 6pm today, the traffic congestion on this road has disappeared.
While commending the DPO for his humanitarian intervention, Alh. Kazeem OLATOYINBO said such fine gesture from a gentleman Police officer is a worthy example for many Nigerians to follow.
“The DPO has brought in the true spirit of community policing to Morogbo Division through this intervention, in addition to many other crime prevention /curbing strategies he has brought on board within the Division.
While this intervention has brought a big sign of relief to commuters on the Lagos- Badagry International Expressway, stakeholders appeal to the Federal Government to have a permanent fix on the failed section of the Expressway.
