Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said its structure remains intact despite the recent unveiling of the African Democratic Congress ( ADC) by some opposition politicians, including its members, as their preferred platform for the 2027 polls.

Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Umar Damagum, who stated, while presenting certificates of returns to its candidates in the February 2026 Area council election in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) expressed confidence that the opposition party will win the polls.

Damagum, who was represented by the PDP  National Vice Chairman (North Central), Abdulrahman Mohammed, aid the party was not in coalition with any political party.

“There is nothing like coalition in FCT, and there is no any attempt of defecting to any other political party in FCT.  We know FCT is the home of PDP, and PDP is for FCT, insha Allah.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on our supporters, most especially the executives of our political party, from the ward to the state levels, it is no longer business as usual.”

The PDP chairman cautioned members against engaging in any form of anti -party activities, threatening serious sanctions.

“We have a disciplinary committee at the state chapter, also at the local government level, and that person must be disciplined.  We know you may have your brothers and your sisters in the other side, but we also have our brothers and sisters who are still in this party.

“Any misbehaviour, the party will no longer take it, and whoever feel that he is not ready to do this work, please move, just move immediately, so that the vacuum will be immediately replaced.

“We will all dedicate ourselves that we are going to work for this party, and we all agreed that we are going to remain in this party.

“So, as an executive, it’s a shameful thing to find you at the other side, campaigning, or organising or doing whatsoever with other political parties.

“That is  called anti-party activities. I will not allow that to happen in the FCT anymore,”Damagum stated.
