Clerics and others have urged the family of late Pa Chief Funso Braimoh Agoro, to continue honouring the deceased’s legacy through initiatives that could make lasting impact

Agoro family of Lagos recently organised eight-day Fidau prayer and burial at the Eko Club Arcade Hall in Surulere, Lagos, for their patriarch who passed away at the age of 105 on November 16, 2024.

Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, son of Pa Funso, delivered an emotional tribute, reflecting on the legacy of his father: “Papa was a man who exemplified integrity and service, and his contributions continue to inspire us all. While we mourn his passing, we celebrate the life he lived and the enduring lessons he left us.

“He inspired us with his humility, kindness, and dedication to fostering unity in his community. His life reminds us of the power of humility and the importance of selfless service. As we mourn, we also celebrate the legacy of Papa’s love, wisdom, and devotion to humanity.”

Pa Agoro’s youngest son, Olatunbosun, also shared intimate reflections on his father’s life and career. He described his father as “honest and diligent. I will surely miss him, but Allah knows best.”

Tajudeen Jaiyeola Agoro, General Secretary, Ojo Chieftaincy Family recalled: “When I was elected to the Lagos State House of Assembly in 1999, he gave me a political textbook filled with lessons that have kept me politically relevant to this day.”

Alhaji Abdulrazak Bello, Chief Imam, Ahmadiyya Nurul Islam Ebute-Metta, called on the Agoro family to continue honouring Pa Funsho’s legacy through initiatives that could make a lasting impact, such as scholarships, mosque construction, and health programs.

Alhaji Bello further emphasized the importance of maintaining the “Pa Funsho Ibraheem Agoro Public Lecture,” an annual Ramadan event that has empowered many and remains a testament to Pa Funsho’s commitment to education and the betterment of society.
