• Declares allegiance to governor

From Lateef Dada, Osogbo

The Executive Council of Osun State Government has denied the rumour that Governor Ademola Adeleke is planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared their loyalty to his government.

Speaking at a press conference organised by 25 commissioners and 10 special advisers on Monday, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Dosu Babatunde, described as rumour, claims that the governor is planning to defect to the opposition party in the state.

Babatunde who is the secretary of Forum of Commissioners, said the entire members of the Osun State Executive Council have expressed their total solidarity and unwavering support to Adeleke and also maintained their readiness to stand solidly like a rock of Gibraltar behind Governor Adeleke in his undying quests to take Osun to greater heights.

Responding to question on whether they are ready to move with the governor of he decides to dump the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Babatunde said Adeleke is not leaving the PDP and will not leave.

He said, “The Governor is a PDP governor, and many Governors in Nigeria are appreciating his developmental effort in Osun state. He his not moving to any political party. It is even wicked to think along that line.

“The Governor is a Governor of PDP and he’s can’t move and not even planning to move to another party. We are very close to him, we are members of the Executive Council and we have decided to remain in the PDP and develop PDP to greater height. He is going to continue his developmental stride in the PDP,” Babatunde said.
