A prominent youth-driven sociopolitical and governance advocacy organization, City Boy Movement has fiercely condemned recent allegations published by an online news platform (not The Sun) linking Barrister Seyi Tinubu to the disruption of a National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) event.
In a strongly worded statement signed by its Director General, Hon. Francis Tosin Shoga, the movement described the report as “malicious, baseless, and a desperate act of character assassination” targeted at its Grand Patron, Barr. Seyi Tinubu.
According to the publication in question, Seyi Tinubu was accused of orchestrating the use of thugs to interfere with the controversial inauguration of a factional NANS leadership led by one Isa Atiku Abubakar.
However, the City Boy Movement dismissed the claims as completely fabricated and lacking any supporting evidence.
“Atiku’s sensational claims of being ‘stripped naked’ and ‘forced to make videos under duress’ amount to nothing more than cheap theatrics aimed at gaining undeserved public sympathy.
“Such absurd drama has no place in the 21st century,” the statement read in part.
Hon. Shoga praised Tinubu’s longstanding commitment to youth development, constructive dialogue, and empowerment programs, stating that he has never interfered in organizational matters such as those of NANS.
The Movement also issued a stern warning to those behind what it described as a smear campaign, vowing to pursue legal action against Atiku and any collaborators involved in the defamation.
“The City Boy Movement will not stand by while opportunists exploit Barr. Seyi Tinubu’s name for cheap popularity.
They must be prepared to face the legal consequences of their defamatory actions,” the statement added.
The organization urged Nigerian youths to remain focused on meaningful engagement and national development rather than be distracted by “uncoordinated skit-making and attention-seeking drama”
