Chartered Institute Of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) said it would do everything within the law establishing it to deepen tax profession in Nigeria, even as it sets to transit from physical to Computer-Based Examinations (CBE) with effect from April 2025 as well as the release of its newly reviewed syllabus.
The Registrar/Chief Executive of the Institute, Mrs. Afolake Oso, in a statement who affirmed that the CBE will enhance the convenience and efficiency of future examinations, equally announced the releases its October 2024 diet examination results.
The Registrar maintained that the Governing Council of CITN was delighted over the performance of its students following the examination, while acknowledging the hard work and dedication of everyone that led to this achievement. “Students are advised to check the established Telegram group as well as their dashboards on the CITN portal for their individual results and further updates.
“Before now, the CBT (Computer Based Test) had been tested on our Foundation students with huge success recorded and effective April 2025, the Professional Examinations 1 and 11 would be deployed as CBE”
Mrs. Oso however expressed the Institute’s dissatisfaction over the low turnout of Foundation students at the CBT sensitization programs usually held 4 Thursdays of the month before the diet exams. The sensitization program is an avenue to appraise students of the modalities for the CBT and acquaint them with the functionality the CBT platform.
The sensitization program also affords students the opportunity of trying out our mock examinations before the actual examination. Unfortunately, the turnout at has always been low. “We encourage all our current and prospective students to take advantage of such opportunities in order to familiarize themselves with the new examination format by attending the sensitization and demo program that would be organized ahead of the 2025 April and October diet examinations respectively”
She urged students writing the exams to attend the sensitization programs, register with an accredited tuition house and utilize recommended reading materials to enhance their chances of success in the Institute’s examinations so that they are not caught unawares.
“CITN examinations provide valuable opportunities for professional growth and development to continuously enhance standards. The Institute will continue to improve on the standard of its examinations in order sustain the high quality of Tax Professionals in the Tax Industry” she assured.
