The Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD) has paid tribute  to the late Iyalode Alaba Lawson, whose demise occurred  on Saturday, October 2023.

In a statement signed by President and Chairman of Council, CIoD Nigeria, Alhaji Tijjani Borodo,  the institution said with heavy hearts and profound sadness “we pay tribute to an exceptional individual who graced our Institute with her presence and influence. Though she may no longer be physically with us, her memory and the impact they made will forever be etched in our hearts.

“Iyalode Alaba Lawson, the Pioneer Chairman of the Abeokuta Branch of our Institute and an eminent Fellow of our great Institute, was not only a dedicated contributor but also a source of inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her passion, intelligence, and unwavering commitment to her work were unparalleled, leaving an indelible mark on our Institution.

“Throughout her time with us, Iyalode Lawson exemplified the true spirit of collaboration, always ready to lend a helping hand and share her wealth of knowledge and experience with others.

“She possessed a rare combination of candour, expertise and humility, making her approachable and respected by all.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a warm and compassionate individual who touched the lives of many. Her kindness, empathy, and genuine concern for others created a nurturing environment within our Institute, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie.

“Though Iyalode Lawson’s physical presence may be gone, her impactful contributions will continue to shape our institute for years to come. We are forever grateful for the time we shared with her and her profound influence on the Abeokuta Branch of our great Institute.

“Today, we mourn the irreparable loss and celebrate the life of a remarkable person, who touched our hearts and enriched our institute by being the pioneer Chapter Chairman of our great Institute in Abeokuta Branch.

“Let us cherish the memories we have of Iyalode Alaba Lawson and find solace in the knowledge that her spirit will forever be a part of our Institute’s fabric.

“Rest in peace, dear Iyalode Alaba Lawson, MFR, F.IoD. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.”
