Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), has elected Bishops to fill the vacant Episcopal Sees in four of its Diocese located in Uyo, Katsina, Oji River (Enugu) and Ogbia (Bayelsa).

The elected Bishops are Venerable Owen Ukafia for the Diocese of Uyo; Venerable Nuhu Yohanna for the Diocese of Katsina; Venerable Matthew Tamunotari Ogaze for the Diocese of Ogbia; and Venerable Ikechukwu Egbuonu for the Diocese of Oji River.

Korede Akintunde, Church of Nigeria Communication Officer, in a statement, on Sunday, noted that the election of the Bishops were conducted during the recently concluded Standing Committee meeting of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, held at the Cathedral Church of the Ascension, Boji-Boji, Owa, Delta State.

Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba, congratulated the newly elected Bishops and prayed that God will grant them wisdom, strength and good health, to pilot the affairs of people in their respective Diocese.

He, however, called on all members of the Church to pray and support the newly elected Bishops and their families, as they go into their new places of assignments after the due processes, training and consecration.
