President of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Samue Oladele, has accused some churches of altering ancient landmarks of Christian doctrines.
The cleric spoke at a press conference to announce the 2023 Pastors’ Conference of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas.
He said CAC chose “Proving our growth through sound doctrines” as theme, in order to emphasise the truth about the standard doctrines of Christianity.
According to him, “there are so many teachings flying about today, but we are talking about doctrines rooted in the Scriptures.”
He added that the teachings may be popular and inviting, but if they are not rooted in the Bible, they would not help the Church.
He added that the word of God is settled and it does not need revision or padding.
“That’s why God warned Israelites not to tamper with the ancient landmarks which demarcate family holdings from one another.
“But today’s Christianity is shifting from the clear landmarks that were set for us in the Scriptures.”
Oladele said Christianity is not to be practised the way any one wants. It must be practised according to specification which had been given in the Bible.
“Proving our Growth Through Sound Doctrines” which is the broad theme for the conference, Oladele expressed the necessity for ordained ministers to return to the basics and uphold sound doctrines from the Bible.
“The doctrines that we are talking about are not the CAC system of beliefs, but what the Bible teaches, the fundamental truths of the Bible which we can not joke with. We cannot compromise that. It is time for the church to go back to the doctrines of the Bible,” he said. Emphasising that the focus on sound doctrine is not what the church or its leaders teach, but what the Bible teaches.
The clergyman stated that the Church may be wrong but the Word of God cannot be wrong, quoting Psalms 119:89 which says “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”
On if the conference is open for non-members of Christ Apostolic Church, the CAC president explained that while there are gatherings of the church where non-members are invited to attend, the annual Pastors’ Conference is strictly for ordained ministers of the church and not for any minister.
The conference for the over 12,000 ordained ministers in Christ Apostolic Church would begin on Tuesday, September 19, and end on Friday, September 22, at Babalola International Miracle Camp, Ikeji Arakeji in Osun State.
