Queen Chioma Williams Okoro is a Nigerian beauty queen and philanthropist who has made a significant impact in her community through her charitable initiatives.
During her reign as the Face of Edda, Queen Chioma passionately championed a project close to her heart, titled “Pad Up Edda Girls.” The project, which took place on July 1st and 2nd, 2021, aimed to address the critical issue of menstrual health and hygiene among young girls in her community.
The project had several core objectives, including menstrual health education, which provides comprehensive education about menstrual health, hygiene, and management. Others are distribution of sanitary pads to underprivileged girls, empowerment and confidence building through fortifying girls’ self-esteem and encouraging body positivity. Breaking stigma by promoting open dialogue and creating a culture of acceptance and support.
Queen Chioma’s efforts did not stop there. As the Most Vibrant Queen International, she initiated another impactful project called “Reach Out to Widows” on December 30th, 2024. During this project, she provided over 100 pieces of traditional wrappers to widows in her community.
The “Reach Out to Widows” initiative was founded on the principle of supporting and empowering one of the society’s most vulnerable groups. Queen Chioma’s goal was to create a significant positive change in the lives of these resilient women by providing a supportive network and equipping them with essential resources and skills.
