The patriarch of Onyenwe dynasty of Ugwuala Egbelu, Isiala Uvuru in Aboh-Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Chief Daniel Ezewunwa Onyenwe, is dead. He was aged 86 years.
Before his death, he was an accomplished civil servant that worked both at the Eastern Region and Imo State Civil Service, where he served meritoriously as Secretary to many local government areas in Imo State before he retired as information officer.
On retirement, he ventured into private business and excelled tremendously in trading and farming.
His death was a great loss to his community as he contributed immensely to their welfare and development as he championed the sinking of a borehole in his community in the 1980s and the building of Jehovah Jireh Anglican Church, Egbelu Uvuru. He enjoyed tremendous respect and admiration throughout his lifetime because of his philanthropy, honesty, dedication and love for his community as he was a pillar of support to many.
Chief Onyenwe, popularly known as DEO, gave his very best in every assignment and positions he held, especially as a leader and chairman of Aladinma of his community.
He will be laid to rest on December 19, 2024, after a funeral service at Jehovah Jireh Anglican Church, Egbelu Uvuru, and interment follows immediately at his compound.
He is survived by wife, children, grandchildren, in-laws and a host of other relatives.
