The National Coordinator of All Progressives Grand Alliance Media Warriors Forum, Evang Chinedu Obigwe, described politics as a game of alignment and realignment which can throw up credible leadership at certain points in history.
Obigwe who made the remarks in a statement issued in Awka in reaction to certain permutations that Governor Soludo may co-opt former Aviation Minister Osita Chidoka into his administration, said if Osita Chidoka decides to join APGA, the party faithful will roll out drums and red carpet to welcome him as a political Iroko.
The APGA media Chief described Chidoka as one among Anambra’s best brains who is respected globally.
But he cautioned that those insinuating that he will take over from Governor Soludo are only making a futile attempt to pre-empt Chidoka’s future political moves.
He commended what he described Osita Chidoka’s unalloyed support for Governor Soludo administration which he clarified that such support is fuelled by Chidoka’s belief that Soludo is the man Anambra needs to get to an enviable height in Nigeria politically and otherwise.
“When Chidoka served as a member of Governor Soludo transition Committee, he rendered selfless service to the State.In years to come, there is no way the history of Governor Soludo transformation of Anambra State as Governor will be written without a mention of the valued contribution of Osita Chidoka as a result of his membership of Soludo transition Committee”.
“If it’s about qualification, Osita Chidoka is eminently qualified to govern Anambra State but for now, such discussion shouldn’t arise.When that time comes, if God decides that it will be Osita Chidoka that will succeed Governor Soludo, there is nothing anybody can do about it”.
“The genuine support of Osita Chidoka for Governor Soludo administration is commendable and APGA faithful are grateful to him for that. He has shown that his party affiliation cannot stop him from supporting something he knows very well that is for the best interest of ndi Anambra”. He said.
Obigwe said that after the completion of Governor Soludo’s second tenure and power shifts to Anambra Central, Osita Chidoka has the right to join the race and by then, it will be left for Anambra electorates to decide who will succeed Soludo by that time.
“For me and other APGA faithful, if Osita Chidoka decides to join our party, we will roll out drums and red carpet to welcome him as a political iroko because such development calls for celebration,” he said.
