House of Representatives Member elect for Chanchaga Federal Constituency in Niger State, Hon. Abubakar Abdul Buba has described his victory in the Saturday’s National Assembly election as an act of God, saying that only God can give power when he wishes.

Speaking shortly after he was declared the winner of the Saturday election, Hon. Buba who was contesting for the seat for the third time, said the will of the people have finally prevailed after three unsuccessfully attempts since he quits civil service as the Cashier for the state Ministry for local government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state.

Hon. Buba was declared the winner for Chanchaga Federal Constituency election after defeating the All Progressive Congress (APC) Candidate and younger brother to the former Military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Hon. Ado Abubakar and according to him, “the people of Chanchaga have spoken through the ballot Box”.

In the results announced at the Constituency headquarters in Minna, Chanchaga local government area of the state, Hon. Buba defeated the APC Candidate, Alhaji Ado Abubakar with 35,688 as against 17,282 scored by the APC Candidate.

The Member elect in a statement in Minna personally signed by himself on Sunday, Hon Buba was full of appreciation to the people of Chanchaga Federal Constituency for the overwheming votes which earned him his first electoral victory.

According to him, “I am extremely delighted by the show of solidarity and overwhelming support from the people of Chanchaga Federal Constituency as displyed on Saturday at the poll. This support did not come from my party faithful alone, but the entire people of Chanchaga Federal Constituency regardless of party affiliations”.

While thanking the people for the mandate given to him, he appealed to them to extend similar support to the governorship candidate of the party, Alhaji Liman Kantigi in the March 11 governorship election in the state, saying that “it is not yet over until the PDP return to power in the state.

“I therefore appealeed to you to exhibit the same sense of solidarity and support on the March 11 when you will go to the poll to elect our governor, Hon. Isah Liman Kantigi, his Deputy, Hon. Aminu Garba and Members of the state house of assembly under the platform of PDP”.
