The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has commended the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, and the dedicated task force for their decisive and courageous actions in combating oil theft, illegal oil bunkering, and  vandalising pipelines in the Niger Delta.

The National President of MOSEIND, Kennedy Tonjo West in a statement said the firm response from the military has sent a clear message to criminal elements seeking to exploit and endanger our region’s resources and future.

West, who pointed out that MOSIEND is proud to identify with the CDS, said the efforts of the military underscored the government’s commitment to ending these illegal activities.

He declared that with the onslaught from the military, criminals who were hell-bent on stealing our infrastructure and stealing our crude for whatever would soon be rounded up. 

The statement reads in part: “MOSIEND fully supports this unwavering stance and stands ready to collaborate in furthering these critical goals. The impact of oil theft and pipeline vandalization on our communities, environment, and national economy is profound.

‘’For years, these illegal operations have not only undermined local livelihoods but have also caused devastating environmental damage, posing severe health risks and degrading the quality of life for residents across the Niger Delta. This bold and strategic intervention by the Chief of Defence Staff and the task force brings renewed hope to communities who have long endured these injustices.
