The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), South West, has decorated the President of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele as Pillar of Faith.

Oladele was honoured alongside other dignitaries, on May 22, 2025, at the CAN South-West conference, which featured investiture, and empowerment program, held at the Garden of Faith, Communion Faith Avenue, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

CAN Chairman, South-West, Bishop Tunde Akin-Akinsanya, noted that Pastor Oladele was honoured with the highest CAN honour for his exceptional leadership quality and for being a spiritual leader with a heart of gold.

In appreciation to CAN, the CAC President expressed his gratitude, noting that the award came as a pleasant surprise to him.

He then prayed for appearance of pleasant surprises in the lives of the organisers.

He also stated that the award is a challenge and an invitation to more works not only in CAC, but also in the context of the body of Christ generally.

Pastor Oladele humbly referenced Billy Graham, who once said that he accepts awards temporarily, with the intention of laying them at the feet of Jesus Christ, the ultimate Master.

“I accept this award, and all others I’ve received and will receive, as temporary honours that I will ultimately lay at the feet of Christ. May God strengthen CAN nationally, beyond regional boundaries.” He remarked.

Others honoured at the event are the Inspector General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, Deputy Comptroller -General of Customs, Barr. Alajogun Olaniyi, Business Mogul, Aare Adetola Emmanuel-King and Gospel Artist, Evang. Prof. Ebenezer Fabiyi-Obey.
