Two candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aliyu Muhammad and Rabiu Kamba, have been declared winners of the rerun and by-elections in both Arewa-Dandi federal constituency and that of Yauri-Shanga-Ngaski federal constituency of Kebbi State.
While Muhammad polled 54,885 votes, his arch rival, Garba Warra, of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), got 16,652 votes. Similarly, Kamba of APC garnered 32,432 while his opponent from PDP got 31,858 votes.
While declaring the results at collation centre at Yauri, the Returning Officer for Yauri Shanga-Ngaski federal constituency, Abbas Bazata, from the Federal University Birnin, Kebbi, declared APC candidate, Muhammad scored 54,885 while PDP candidate, Warra got 16,652.
He disclosed valid votes was 72,343, rejected votes was 2,126 while total casted votes was 74,469.
He said: “I, Professor Abbas Yusuf Bazata, hereby declare Muhammad, male, from APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law as the winner and return elected.”
Also, the returning Officer of Arewa-Dandi federal constituencies, Aliyu Abdullahi Turaki, while declaring the results of the constituency, said the APC candidate, Kamba scored 32,432 while PDP candidate, Kamba got 31,858 votes.
