Burna Boy, a Nigerian Afrobeats musician, has responded to outrage over his proposal to play a free concert in Burkina Faso.
The statement came after critics criticised the effort and claimed he had been rejected by Burkina Faso’s President.
In an Instagram Story, the Grammy-winning performer justified his objectives while criticising people who questioned his reasons.
According to him, his actions are guided by principle, not personal gain.
Burna Boy said he was shocked by the surprisingly negative and offensive comments from some individuals.
“I have nothing to gain from anybody. I don’t owe anyone anything, but that never stopped me from doing the great work I do.
“My integrity is unquestionable. Therefore burn in hell if you said anything negative,” Burna Boy wrote.
