Thousands of spectators will watch Nigerian athletics stars and their counterparts from across the globe for free at the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Organizers of the championship recently announced a goodwill partnership geared towards promoting social inclusion that will benefit children in foster care, people with disabilities, large families and others with challenging circumstances.
Facilitated through the Civil Roads Foundation’s network of nearly 50 partner organisations, it is hoped that the event in the Hungarian capital will be made accessible to all, especially people facing difficult challenges.
Children orphaned during the COVID-19 pandemic are due to be among those to attend the World Championships.
Nigeria will parade an array of track and field stars in Budapest 2023 due to run between August 19 and 27 at the new National Athletics Centre.
The World Athletics Championships is the world’s biggest track and field championship, where the best athletes converge to compete for the honour of the world title or medals on the biggest stage of all.
World record holder, Tobi Amusan will lead the pack of Nigerian stars in hurdles, sprints, jumps and throws to the Budapest championship.
