All is set for the 4th edition of a Bible Quiz for the deaf organised by Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN).
The Bible quiz, which will be conducted in the Nigerian Sign Language, will be held at the Christian Mission for the Deaf, Shomolu, Lagos today. The BSN is organising the quiz in fulfilment of its mission to make the Holy Bible available to Nigerians in their preferred languages and formats and help them engage with the word of God through life-transforming programmes.
The contestants – from 11 schools for the deaf – are expected to answer questions from the chronological Bible stories translated for the deaf in the Nigerian Sign Language by BSN. The BSN has a Deaf Translation Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State, where the Bible is being translated into the Nigerian Sign Language for the Deaf.
The BSN is a not-for-profit interdenominational Christian organisation that translates the Bible into Nigerian languages, publishes, distributes, and raises funds for the Bible work. It also organises life-transforming programmes that help people engage with the Word of God. So far, BSN has the complete Bible in 27 Nigerian languages and 222 chronological Bible stories in Nigerian Sign Language for the deaf.
