From Romanus Ugwu, Abuja

Political Parties numbering over 10 disrupted the announcement of the presidential election conducted last Saturday from continuing.

They demanded that the polling units’ results be uploaded into the INEC Results Viewing Portal (IReV) to authenticate the presented results.

Despite appeals from the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, to allow the process to continue, the opposition party agents staged a walkout from the collation centre.

For more than 15 minutes, the party agents took time to appeal to the chairman of the Commission to suspend the announcement until the polling units’ results were uploaded.

At the resumption of the second session of the presentation, Yakubu had appealed to the political parties to exercise patience and allow the continuation of the announcement, promising to address their greviances

The opposition parties claimed that they cannot be a party to the fraud cooked by the ruling party and endorsed by the electoral commission.
