Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said President Bola Tinubu’s security infrastructure has failed to secure the lives and property of Nigerians.
According to him, Nigerians are being forced to get get to news of wanton killings across the country on a daily basis.
Atiku said this in a statement shared on X on Friday as more bodies are recovered from the recent killings in Bokkos, Plateau State.
Gunmen had attacked Mangor Tamiso, Daffo, Manguna (Tagai), Hurti and Tadai communities of Bokkos LGA on the night of April 2 and opened fire on innocent citizens.
This newspaper further reports that forty more bodies have been recovered in the coordinated attacks, bringing the death toll to 52.
Reacting to the development, Atiku said, “The failure of Bola Tinubu’s security architecture has now become an endemic nationwide phenomenon with repeated killings, more of which do not even make the headlines.
“Nigerians are now being forced to get used to such news of wanton killings, and I again offer my condolences to the bereaved communities of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State and the affected families.”
The 2023 presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) restated his counsel to the Tinubu-led FG to reconfigure its security architecture to meet the needs of protecting the lives and properties of Nigerians.
