Governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abia State, Bishop Sunday Onuoha, has flagged off his campaign for the 2023 election, with security and employment topping his priority list.
Onuoha, Bishop of Methodist Church Nigeria, at the official kick off of his campaign at Ibeku High school, Umuahia, assured that every part of the state would enjoy maximum security if elected.
He expressed his determination to defeat the monster of unemployment challenging in the state.
The cleric, who described himself as the only true employer of labour among other gubernatorial candidates, explained that his experience in the field of job creation and human capital management rank him above other contestants.
He acknowledged the contributions of former and serving governors of Abia State for their achievements during their reigns, but vowed to outperform them using his wide international connections and God’s favours.
On why he chose a woman, Mrs Ngozi Iheasumuo as running mate, Onuoha said he believes in the capacity of women to develop the society.
The ADC candidate urged Abians to vote for him and other ADC candidates to restore the state to its deserved position.
He also promised to pay pensioners in the state regularly and to create an office in Government House, Umuahia where welfare of retirees would be adequately attended regularly.
