On Saturday 9 February, Chiamaka Anyaegbu and Chukwudalu Anulude, children of two influential Nigerians, tied the knot in Lagos at a lavish ceremony where no expense was spared. Bride Chiamaka is the daughter of Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu, founder of Chisco Group, and his beloved wife, Ngozi, while the groom, Chukwudalu is the son of Sir Jonathan Anulude, a renowned pharmacist and Hon. Justice Gloria Anulude, a high court judge in Anambra State. It was a showstopping wedding where money was put on display with all the trappings of a classy ceremony. The two families, who are both from Amichi, Nnewi South, Anambra State, pampered their children, Chiamaka and Chukwudalu to a luxury wedding ceremony.
The luxury nuptials started with the solemnisation service at the St John’s Anglican Church, Falomo, Ikoyi. Living up to his wealthy status, the bride’s father rode into the church premises like an old-monied billionaire heavily-guarded in a gleaming custom-made Black Rolls Royce. But all eyes were on the bride looking regal in a gorgeous gown with a dramatic lace train and near floor-length veil as she walked into the church aisle with her father by her side.
The wedding reception chaired by Dr John Nnia Nwodo, President-General, Ohaneze Ndigbo, was held at the beautifully decorated prestigious Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos with super performances by the Vintage Band and ex-Mavin Records star, Reekado Banks. Flowers and decorations for the reception were reported to have cost more than most people’s entire wedding budget. Super billionaires Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola joined other big shots of Nigerian social establishment including Gen. Ike Nwachukwu, Fidelity bank boss, Nnamdi Okonkwo, Chief Mike Inegbese, Chief Alex Chika Okafor, Chief Eric Umeofia, Chief Charles Odunukwe, Dr. Victor O. Mbanisi and Admiral Allison Maduekwe to celebrate with the bride’s father. At the party were also retinue of leading society ladies some of who glowed in the Onion-colour Aso-Ebi lace. They included Hajia Bola Shagaya, Dr. Stella Okoli, Joke Shogunro, and Gwen Nwachukwu.
Chiamaka is Information Technology Management graduate of the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. The groom, Chukwudalu, graduated with a first class honours degree and at a very young age, programmed and sold his first software called Manis inventory.
