Which to you is the best time of the day to have sex? Have you ever given that a thought?

Are you aware that digging deep first thing in the morning might be the best time for sex? Well, according to a team of researchers, morning sex can get your endorphins pumping, setting you in a great mood, and helping you get through the day.

Everyone has different times of the day they have sex with their partner, but this study suggests that you may want to check out this time of the day, early morning, to get the optimal benefits from your sexual encounters.

This research was compiled by a health and well-being firm, Forza Supplements, which monitored the body clocks of 1,000 people who lead healthy and active lives. This is a fairly small sample, though.

Responders were asked to tick the optimum times when they thinkthey get maximum benefits from their daily activities. From their responses, researchers were able to point out times of the day which suits each activity best: work, rest and play. Among other discoveries, they found out the best time of day to have a drink, go to bed, and tackle tough tasks.

Going by this research, the best time to have sex is 7.30am – which is, on average, around 45 minutes after wake-up. Your energy levels are at the highest after a good night’s rest; which means, you have more stamina at this time of the day.  As a matter of fact, the rush of endorphins gained by sex lowers blood pressure and stress levels and makes one feel more upbeat, happier, positive and more productive for the rest of the day

Experts believe that one of the best things that couples can do to spice up their sex life is to have sex with lights on. Majority of sex happens at night and mostly in the dark. So having sex at this particular  time of the day is as good as having sex with the lights on, making for a lot of eye contacts.

Forza also further found out the best times of the day to do various activities including when to have a drink (6:10 p.m.), the best time to go to sleep (10:10 p.m.), and the best time to do your most mentally-strenuous activities (9:45 a.m.).

Sex is better in the morning than in the evening because certain hormones like testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, adrenaline, oxytocin, and vasopressin are actually very high in the morning if you are sexually aroused.

While this research suggests when it is best to have sex, people are wired differently. We have morning and evening chronotypes. A person’s chronotype determines exactly when they should do various activities.

Sex time for people may differ. While most men rise like the sun in the morning, not all men would love to have sex in the morning. Some men immediately after sex feel very tired and fall deeply asleep, so morning sex slows them down for the day.

Date nights is without doubt very important. After the date, chances are you feel attracted to your partner and you want to, at least, get busy. Which is way sexier than doing it in the morning, when you may be running late for work. People having sex is mostly about convenience, not really about what’s best.

In Nigeria, it is not easy to remain in the house at that time of the day; in fact, some people leave the comfort of their beds as early as 5:30 am to go to their various places of work. For such people, sex can only happen as they are shutting down for the day, deep in the night, or before 5:30am.

The best time of the day for having sex with your partner depends on your age as well: you go with the flow in terms of your hormones.

One thing for sure is not to let science tell you when to have sex. No matter when you do it, sex is sex, and it is also an individual thing and varies from person to person.

You can have sex whenever you want: be it for night time sex which is fantastic and puts you to sleep; afternoon sex which is a pure delight; 2 am, 4am or 5:30 am sex where you just rise and grind. Whichever works best for you, go for it; after all, the best time to have sex is whenever you are in the mood, with your partner’s consent.

To most people who think sex is a night time activity, it is time you upped your game a little by trying out something new like the research suggests. The morning sex may be worth it.

While the survey notes 7.30 pm as optimal time for sex, if you don’t wake up that early or wake earlier due to your schedule, you can still enjoy morning sex within 45 minutes of waking up. It is guaranteed to lower your blood pressure and stress levels, leading to a happier and more productive day.
