Turkish Super Lig side, Beşiktaş is poised to enhance its roster during the winter transfer window by targeting Gift Orban, the promising Nigerian forward currently with 7-time French Ligue 1 champion, Olympique Lyon.

In its search for a striker capable of complementing Ciro Immobile’s scoring abilities, the Black Eagles have identified Orban as a viable option.

Takvim inTakvims that Beşiktaş is preparing to propose a loan agreement for Orban in January, especially considering his limited playing time at Lyon.

Recall the 22-year-old rose to prominence after an impressive goalscoring spell at Gent.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is said to be in favour of this signing, as it has become evident that Orban, who also has the versatility to operate on the wing, is dissatisfied with his lack of opportunities.

Takvim also suggests that Lyon is open to offloading the 22-year-old, who has appeared in only five matches this season.

Orban was notably absent from recent squad selections, a decision attributed to the club’s Technical Director.

After transferring from Gent for €14 million in the previous January window, Orban is under contract with Lyon until 2028, further complicating negotiations but also indicating his potential value in the market.

In his last appearance against Strasbourg, he managed to net two goals, signalling his capability to contribute offensively when given the opportunity.
