Beşiktaş is set to hand Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze an escape route from the Italian Serie A when the winter transfer window becomes active in January.
Chukwueze, who joined San Siro giants AC Milan from Spanish club, Villarreal during the 2023 summer transfer window for a deal worth €20m, has been on and off with his form.
The pressure of him being the most expensive signing of a window that saw 10 players join Milan may have negatively affected his club and his lack of playing time, thus coming under much criticism from the Italian media.
According to GT Spor, “Beşiktaş will be active in the January transfer window, and they are interested in 25-year-old Nigerian right winger Samuel Chukwueze, who plays for Milan in Italy.
“With a market value of €20 million, the Yellow Canaries are considering a loan offer for Chukwueze. “
Recall in Milan’s 3-3 draw away to Cagliari, Gazzetta wrote, “Against Cagliari, Nicola’s left-winger Augello capitalized on Milan’s well-known weakness, sending in a remarkable eight crosses. Emerson struggled to contain him, with limited support from Chukwueze. Similar defensive gaps have appeared across the backline.
The wingers’ defensive contributions are also under scrutiny. Notably, Leao ran more defensively than Chukwueze. A promising sign for Leao, but Fonseca will need consistent efforts from all offensive players to strengthen the team’s overall.”
