The former Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, has appealed to his supporters and those of Senator Gabriel Suswam to reconcile and work towards maintaining peace and unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Terver Akase, Chief Ortom acknowledged that differing opinions and positions are inevitable in politics. However, he emphasized that such differences often contribute to a more robust democratic process and enrich political discourse within parties.
He highlighted the long-standing friendship and mutual respect he shares with Senator Suswam as leaders within the PDP. Ortom expressed confidence that they would always find amicable solutions to any political disagreements, prioritizing the best interests of the party and its members.
Ortom called on all stakeholders to remain committed to the shared objectives and aspirations of the PDP. He commended party members in the 23 local government areas of Benue State for their peaceful conduct during the recently concluded Ward Congresses. He expressed his hope that they would demonstrate the same spirit of unity during the forthcoming Local Government and State Congresses.
Furthermore, Chief Ortom urged party members to support the State Caretaker Committee established by the National Working Committee, enabling them to succeed in their assigned tasks.
