Benue State Governor Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia has urged the Muslim faithful to use the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to spread love, bountiful graces, happiness, and prosperity among their communities.

The Governor made this call in a celebration message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, and made available to newsmen on Sunday.

Alia further prayed that the celebration should also instil in them the doctrines that encourage peace, tolerance, and mutual respect.

He, on behalf of the government of Benue State, extended hearty greetings and profound congratulations to the Muslim community as they mark the completion of this year’s annual Ramadan fasting, commemorating the 2025 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

He said, “Eid-el-Fitr is a moment of celebration, gratitude, and meditation. It marks the completion of Ramadan, a month devoted to prayer, fasting, and measures of kindness.

“As you gather with family and friends to celebrate this momentous day, may it be filled with joy, peace, and unity.”

He stated further that, “We respect and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the Muslim community to the rich tapestry of our state, Benue.

“Your responsibility to humanity, service, and community development plays a significant part in fostering conformity and harmony among our diversified populace.”

The Governor wished them a happy Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
