Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been advised to be creative and adaptive in taking business responsibility in order to become wealth creators rather than job seekers at the end of the Service Year.
The Coordinator, NYSC, Rivers State, Mr. George Mfongang, gave the advice yesterday, when he flagged off the SAED programme for 2023 Batch C Stream 2 Corps members deployed to Rivers State NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai.
He used the occasion to inform the Corps members that the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), programme offers them the needed opportunity to have eyes for business opportunities which they must seize to stand out financially.
Speaking further, the Rivers State NYSC Team Lead assured the Corps members that the scheme’s top management is in strategic collaboration with selected funding institutions such as Unity Bank, Enterprise Development Centre, Access Bank, WEMA Bank among others to fund their business proposal which meet up with the required standard as a way of setting them up for economic prosperity.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Head of SAED committee on camp, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza, had welcomed the Coordinator and camp officials to the programme and enjoined the Corps members to seize the opportunity of the SAED programme to empower themselves financially and economically.
She used the occasion to appeal to the Corps members to take the SAED training classes very seriously in order to build their capacity for job and wealth creation.
The flag off ceremony featured motivational and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) sensitisation as well as a playlet from the SAED committee.
