The Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has announced the cancellation of eid fitr Sallah durbar celebration.
Bayero , who announced this during a press briefing held at his palace, last night, cited security concerns as the reason for cancelling the eid el fitr Sallah durbar arrangements.
Bayero stressed that the Durbar celebration was not a do-or- die affair as the peaceful coexistence of the people of the state was much more paramount to him.and his council than anything else
The Emir, noted that he had to cancel the Sallah Dubar due to the efforts of respected Islamic clerics, elders, stakeholders, as well as his council members who had prevailed on him to do so in the interest of peace.
He called on the people in the state to use the period of Sallah celebrations instead to visit families and friends
He prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy to all and urged the people to work for continuous peace in the state and Nigeria at large.
