Former President Goodluck Jonathan has called for the scrapping of off-cycle elections.
Jonathan, who stated this shortly after voting in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area, said it is not in line with global best practices.
According to him, if this trend continues, the Presidential election one day will also become an off-cycle election. He therefore pleaded with the National Assembly to amend the constitution to ensure everybody elects their governors at the same time.
