The Bayelsa State Police Command is investigating circumstances surrounding the discovery of a female lifeless body in Etegwe, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.

Residents around the Alkali Street were said to have woken up, yesterday morning, to discover the body dumped in a sewer in the area.

The sight of the body caused panic among the residents and calls were placed to the police to alert them about the discovery.

Investigations revealed that no resident of the area was willing to go near to identify the body and ascertain whether she was a resident of the area.  Findings gathered from residents indicated that she must have been a victim of kidnappers and murdered by her abductors.
