Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has flagged-off the construction of 34.2 kilometres road projects in three local government areas of Darazo, Misau and Katagum.
The projects inaugurated include the 22 kilometers Darazo/Gabchiyari road in Darazo, dualisation of 7 kilometers A.D Rufa’i College of Islamic and Legal studies in Misau and the Dualization of 5.2 SECRACO round about to Emir’s palace road in Azare.
The governor, while flagging off the road projects, commended the benefitting communities for supporting his administration.
“During our electioneering campaign we promised to provide equitable and social and economic development across the state to restore its pride of being one of the best in Nigeria,” he said.
“The ceremony is in fulfilment of our promises and a response to the yearnings and aspirations of our people.
“The projects will not only improve movement of people but also harnesses transportation of agricultural produce from farms to major markets thereby pushing the socio economic development of the local government and Bauchi State as a whole.
“I call on then benefitting communities to cooperate with the contractors to ensure that the road is completed within the stipulate time.
“I will like to express our appreciation to pledge our commitment to provision of infrastructure.
“Our administration remains committed to replication of infrastructures as infrastructure plays key role as enabler that will accelerate the economic growth and enhance the social economic growth of our people.
In a welcoming address, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Darazo, Alhaji Samaila Ya’u Sade appreciated the effort of Governor Bala Mohammed of the state for the equitable distribution of infrastructure across the state.
According to him, the road construction when completed, will impact positively in the economy and the wellbeing of the benefitting communities and by extension, Bauchi State.
On his part, the Managing Director of the contracting company for the Darazo/Gabchiyari road, Prudent Integrated Nigeria limited, Alhaji Hussaini Harazumi, thanked state government under Bala Mohammed for giving the project to the company, pledging to ensure its timely completion.
The MD described Darazo-Gabchiyari road construction projects as one of numerous legacy projects of the governor, noting that the project would be delivered in line with the contract specifications.
Governor Mohammed on Monday began the week long flag-off of massive road network in Misau, Katagum, Jama’are, Shira, Toro, Bogoro, Bauchi and Alkaleri LGAs of the state.
