Hansi Flick prefers that Barcelona sign Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman rather than Liverpool’s Luis Diaz.

Lookman has been linked with a transfer away from Atalanta due to his consistently brilliant performances over the past three seasons.

Barcelona’s plans to strengthen their squad with Luis Diaz have reportedly encountered a major obstacle, as Flick and the club’s hierarchy consider the 28-year-old winger an unsuitable fit for the team’s long-term strategy.

According to a report from MARCA, one of the main reasons behind the club’s decision to distance themselves from pursuing Diaz is his age. At 28, the Colombian international no longer fits the profile of younger, more dynamic players that Flick aims to develop at Barcelona.

In contrast, the 27-year-old Lookman has recorded 50 goals and 22 assists in 11 appearances across all competitions, contributing significantly to Atalanta’s first Serie A title last season.

Flick is focused on integrating younger talent into the squad. While Diaz is a skilled and experienced player, Flick prefers to invest in emerging stars like Nico Williams or Ademola Lookman from Atalanta.
