Bandits operating under the alleged instructions of Bello Turji, have sacked about six communities in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, including the Bafarawa, the community of former Sokoto state Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa .
BBC Hausa Service reported that the bandits, who are loyal to Turji Bello, invaded the communities at the weekend and asked them to vacate the communities within the shortest time or risk execution.
It reported that the affected communities included: Galadima, Sulawa, and several others within the Isa LGA of the state.
A resident of the community, who pleaded anonymity,alleged that the brutal actions of the bandits is an indication that the bandits leader is considering acquiring more territories to himself, and communities in Isa LGA are being targeted.
He said the recent attacks resulted in the death of about eight people, while over 20 persons were seriously injured.
He further stated that displaced members of the communities have found their ways to different Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Shinkafi, Isa, and several other locations for refuge. A woman from the community, told BBC Hausa Service, that the bandits killed her three months old son; took money, food, and other valuables from residents.
She stated that so far, over 100 communities in the area have been sacked by the bandits.
Meanwhile, Halilu Habibu Modachi, who represents Isa state constituency in the Sokoto State House of Assembly, said he has notified security officials for their interventions.
He appealed to the state and local governments to assist the displaced persons with food, water, and shelter.
Police arrest father for defiling 2 daughters in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man,Best Orji, 39 ,for allegedly defiling his two biological daughters.
The survivors were between the ages of 12 and 14 when the crime was committed.
The case of the abuse was reported on April 30, 2025, by the children’s mother.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO),CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, at a press briefing yesterday,at Command headquarters, Ikeja,said the complainant alleged that her husband committed the act in Suru- Lere area of the state .
“Upon receiving the report, police swiftly apprehended the suspect. A medical examination was conducted on the victims at a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC).
“ Following the investigation, the suspect, Best Orji, was arraigned in court on May 9, 2025, to face charges of defilement, under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
“ The Command, under the leadership of CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has reiterated its unwavering commitment to reducingcrime and criminality in the state. The Command,assures residents and visitors that it shall continue to optimise the management and deployment of human and operational resources across the state.”
