Lazio winger Pedro has named Barcelona midfielder Pedri as his choice for the Ballon D’Or.

Pedro enjoyed tremendous success with Barcelona between 2008 and 2015, winning numerous trophies, including three UCL and five La Liga titles.

The 37-year-old played alongside eighth-time Ballon D’Or winner Lionel Messi at the Catalan club.

Under Hansi Flick the club enjoyed domestic success, clinching the treble, and narrowly missing out on a UCL final spot this season.

It’s therefore no surprise that a number of Barcelona’s top performers have been tipped in the race for the Ballon D’Or, including wonderkid Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Pedri.

While Yamal is often spoken about as the favourite alongside Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele, Pedro considers Pedri as equally deserving.

“Of course, I would give Pedri the highest score. Then Lamine Yamal. And maybe other candidates out there are Dembelé or Raphinha, but I would love Pedri to win,” he told El Dia.

The winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or will be announced in September.
